| Hi there,
Have discovered this excellent site after a little searching. I have recently bought a very nice '96 VN800 off Ebay. This is my 12th bike (I also had over 100 cars so you can see I'm an old bugger) and I really like this one a lot. It has a Mustang seat with a backrest and would have to be the only bike I've ever had that doesn't give me a sore bum after hours in the saddle. Magic! The only thing I don't like is the Cobra exhaust...just too noisy, so I'm searching for an alternative quiet solution. Anyway once I get it to my satisfaction I look forward to meeting up with you on the runs and meetings
Cheers Bob | |

| Gday Bob and welcome to the mad house mate. These a few geriatrics from the Hunter area on here and myself and dusty from the central coast, the others are mostly sydney siders but we wont hold that against them. Enjoy your stay here mate and post often. Hope to see you on a ride soon

| Welcome Bob, Welcome to the site! Plenty of fun to be had around here. I have a brand new set of stock pipes for a 900, not sure if they fit the 800 | |

| Thanks for the warm welcome eveyone. I have been looking at the different postings and find the site just great. It's good when there are a lot of active members that put forward various opinions and ideas. I believe 900 pipes won't fit an 800 (such a pity but thanks for the offer). I have taken it to a respected Harley customiser here in Newcastle and he is very happy to do something with; I've left it in his care so I'm hoping it'll be OK by tomorrow Bob | |

| Hi Bob, welcome. Yeah, those Mustang seats are great. Mine will get a real test in a few weeks when I ride to Ayers Rock.
See you on our next Hunter ride.
Harry, what about a revisit to the wineries sometime. Enjoyed that last one. | |

| Hey Bob, I'm a brand new member too and have a VN800. I have Cobras on mine and have to say I love them. I still have the stock originals (in perfect condition) if you're interested. I live in Canberra.
While I'm at it I thought I'd see if anyone knows the best way (if there is one) to get a slightly fatter rear wheel on a VN800 - something to take around a 170 or 180. I love this bike. I keep thinking I want something bigger but with the pipes and jet kit (only mods) the damn thing goes so I can't justify the expense. I ride it every day to work and love pretty much everything about it.
Happy to have found this site and hope to ride with you all at some stage.

| Hey Ricardo welcome to the site. There are a number of ways to increase your tyre size depending on your budget. I think if you search around some of the part sites there are conversion kits which would be the easiest way. Or I think Brit bikes make a whole rear kit but your looking at some dollars there. Try http://www.brittmotorsports.com there are a number of custom options there. | |

| Welcome aboard Ricardo! Glad you love the Cobras and the VN. I am riding to work pretty much every day now since my employer placed me on a "project team". I would rather ride my pushy to work and keep the VN for the weekend! Perhaps we can head south of Sydney one of these days and meet up with you coming north! | |
