FarRide ©️ Series
Ride To Eat - FarRide #10

Thurgoona Country Club - Albury NSW - 16th May 2009

This will be of interest to those who like to take a "longer ride" with the ride being the focus not the coffee breaks. Most Ride to Eat FarRides will be planned at 1000k minimum days. This is not a group ride, there is no route to follow. Be at the Destination at the time stated and be able to complete 1000klm within a 24hr period inclusive of the meet time. That is the purpose of a FarRide

It is not of Iron Butt proportions (just yet) but its aimed at those who are after a good long days ride and to meet, although briefly, with fellow riders with the same mindset. The entry level IBA ride is called a SaddleSore 1600k which is 1600k under 24hrs IBA

The idea is to attempt a minimum 500 klm ride to the food and drinks. 1000klm min for the day

Destination : Thurgoona Country Club - 1 Evesham Place Thurgoona (Albury) NSW

Date : 16th May 2009

Time : 12 to 12.30pm This is the time to get there, aim for 12 noon.
No checkins will be allowed prior to the checkpoint opening at 12noon
The checkin time window closes at 12:30:01
No starting docket with a time earlier than Friday 15th May 12:31 will be accepted

Place : Thurgoona Country Club - 1 Evesham Place Thurgoona - S36 02.796 E146 59.851
1pm we have lunch. Map to Thurgoona Country Club

On arrival you MUST checkin, this will be open from 12noon until 12:30pm
There will be an obvious checkin point in the carpark or near the main entry.

Everyone MUST checkin on arrival, failure to meet the 12:30pm close of the checkpoint means you have not completed the FarRide regardless of how far you rode.

Make it easy have at the ready the following.

1. Your start docket
2. Your distance to the meet location within the 24hrs if this is leg one of your ride.
3. Your total distance in 24hrs if that is your final distance for the day.

NOTE: If you are staying overnight and riding home Sunday please arrange your accomodations early

Please click here and read the base rules and FAQ's that apply to ALL FarRides.
By attending a FarRide you acknowledge and agree that you have read these in full.

Harry,

Sounds like an ace idea mate. This year is out for me as i'm doing a ride to SA then NT then QLD then home. 7400km's in total over 3 weeks. The farride i mention is a 1000km ride to be completed in 24hrs. Its a logistical and endurance challenge that is usually done over a weekend so i might be able to do one of these as well as my trip. The other site i am on is doing a Tassie ride over 10 - 14 days in early march 2010. I'm trying to get the time off to do this one as well but the boss may shoot me if i do LOL. Check out the faride site a weekend away may be something we can all do as a group.

Wow.....!!!! That's insane..!

How many are coming with you..?

My wife's causin from Perth just did acrsoo the USA and he asked me to come next year - I wish I could, but I don't thin I can make it because I just went to the USA last year and don't really want to go there again just yet.

Your trip sounds amazing...! It would be good to go with a few too.

4 of us confirmed so far (unless my wife falls pregnant again which would count me out) plus 90% chance of a support vehicle as well
