Night Ride

Greetings All
Just noticed possible ride to warriors and have been researching (for want of a better word) an evening ride also.
Looking at 10th Dec, about 6 pm. Meeting Auburn Maccas on parramatta rd making way to Harrys woolloloolomolloo( can never get that spelling right.) Via james ruse pennant hills rd, comenarra parkway, gladesville bridge, harrys (sort of)
about 52 ks and supposedly 1.5 hours .Yeah right but if 2 hrs still not late to eat.
Any thoughts or interest???

I'll see if I can get down there for this one. I am rostered off Friday (first one in ages) and my dear wife is keen to organise friends for dinner somewhere here in Newcastle. If that falls through then I can trek the 143 klms from my place to Auburn Maccas and meet up.

This master plan is also weather dependant .... my wet weather gear is OK but it's a relatively long way to trek down and back just to get wet. I'll watch the skies and the BOM site with interest. Will be good to catch up before Christmas.

All reports indicate wetness for Friday, so we will see. My phone number is 0411517939.
I do not know how to notify all or any if the unthinkable happens in these fine summer days and arvos. After all it may just be our luck for the drought to break on the very day we have a chance to get together.
We can clarify the route and extend if we wish on the day.

When it's sorted, just throw up a date etc. My plan this Sat is to ride to Newcastle AM to meet up with my sister and her fiancee. As I mentioned before, I am photographing their wedding NYE and they want us to visit the venue etc. The thing is he wants me to pillion him there. He is also totally blind. I thought I might have some fun and let him navigate me there using my helmet and GPS.

If you ride to Road Warriors Sat evening, I could time my return to meet you there.

Would be nice Ed to see you again and I hope you realise this particular night ride is on Friday at about 6 and finishing at Harrys in town.
So you could still make your Saturday deadline okay---probably be home in bed at 8.30 Friday night

So, who is in for this ride?

Not me I'm afraid. Called into work to cover an illness. Multiple calls to try and arrange someone else. Working at this stage until 18:30hrs so no chance I can get to Sydney by 18:00 to meet up with you guys. The VN is not that fast!!
Have fun. Overcast here in Newcastle but no rain yet. Hope it stays dry for you guys and gals.

Roddy just called to say he was on his way home and asking for an update etc.

At this stage, unless there is more interest in the riide, he will head to Road Warriors with an ETA of 7:30, where he will devour several pizzas.

I finished work at 9pm last night and went straight to Harry's Cafe, hoping you were there, but I was too late and didn't see anyone.

I hope we'll catch up soon.

Lovely ride was had by all who attended on Friday night.
Setting off 4 minutes later than origionally planned-- 6.34 in case there were any stragglers. Heading up to Carlingford and on to Pennant Hills road. Weather was great and turned on to Comenarra Parkway--lovely ride thru there with the trees and coolness.
Decided to not go via Lady Game Drive ( had "go up Lady Game Drive---but that did not sound too good for Lady Game so I changed it to "via") but on to Epping Rd and over the Harbour Bridge because of time restraints. Wow --what a thoroughly pleasant ride over the Bridge at that time of night. Had some pies at Harrys and do not know by how many minutes we missed Kruser , but we were there for quite a while before moving up to St Marys Cathedral for the light show. Another very pleasant experience . In fact hoping to go back in there tonight -Sunday- with the lady of the house if it cools down. The decisions to change the route at any stage on Friday night became easy as there was only two of us doing the night ride--- --
a mate I had invited anyway. Not sure what happened to any others but it was truly pleasant evenings ride. We did not lose anybody at all which is always good.

Sorry guys but hard for me to make a night ride unless you start from the city end I generally dont finish work till 7pm most nights
