PostSubject: Charity ride 4 states 4 mates   Thu Jan 27, 2011 12:43 pm

Hi all,
NSW Riders is supporting the below charity.
So I have copy and pasted this. In case anybody here would also like to support the cause.

You will need to log into NSWR in order to do this or just go to the everyday hero site.

OR

I am sure Ed can point you in the right direction

As you know, motorcyclists are often shown in a poor light when it comes to media attention and the good things we do with regard to raising funds for various charities are often overlooked. Just to mention a few, we have the Steven Walters Snowy Ride, The Pink Ribbon Ride, The Ride for Mental Awareness and various fund raising events for Westmead Children's Hospital. Many of you will also be familiar with the tireless works of Tex and Bundy, along with Tex's partner Jen, which in itself is a remarkable demonstration of caring.

A NSW Rider member, Justin Dorward, along with his brother and two mates are heading off on an adventure of their own from Saturday 26th February. Called '4 Mates 4 States' they have decided to combine their ride across four states with a fund raising initiative in support of the Alannah & Madeline Foundation's Buddy Bag Program.

The Alannah & Madeline Foundation's Buddy Bag Program is an important prog ram that helps so many children. Too often, children are placed in urgent emergency care with only the clothes they are wearing. AMF looks for funding to afford the creation of 'buddy bags', full of essentials that are given to these children (to keep) in their time of need. For more information, go to www.amf.org.au/buddybags

Every $120 raised pays for another Buddy Bag for an Australian child. The 4 mates are paying for the ride themselves, so every dollar raised goes straight to AMF.

How to Donate

All donations are welcome. Thanks to AMF, online donations are possible by going to www.everydayhero.com.au/4mates4states Click 'Donate Now'

At just $19.00, tee shirts are great value and all proceeds go to AMF. Please send Justin (JD) a PM detailing the number of shirts you wish to order along with the sizes. Details of the shirts can be seen in the charity thread at the NSW Riders Website and are available only for a short time, so please order now.

I know all members wish Justin and his mates well with their fund raising and hope that they have a safe and exciting journey. We look forward to following the journey on the site. They will also be posting on-bike footage, pictures, media interviews and commentary on their dedicated Facebook page. Search '4 Mates 4 States' and click 'Like'.

On behalf of Justin, we encourage you to support the Alannah & Madeline Foundation's Buddy Bag Program, by donating and participating by ordering an event tee shirt.

Thanks Stew, making a donation via the every day hero site is the best way of supporting the foundation.
