| Hi everyone. I have worked through Christmas and will do the same through NY's so have thought a trip in March would be good. We did this run in October 2009 and it was great. Sydney to Barossa via Hay. We went to Melbourne by the Great Ocean road then back to Sydney. We can skip that bit and come straight back to Sydney via Gundagai as I only have a week however the Barossa itselgf is really great and well worth it.
Open to variations. Let me know if there is any interest
Cheers
Dave

| Dave, if you leave on a Sat, perhaps we could make it an overnighter to your first o/n destination and those that can't get the time off can return the next day. Just a thought. Keep us posted. | |

| Dave and others When Andre and I did Uluru, we stayed at Hay the first night. We started at BP Albion Park, travelling through the Southern Tablelands (Robertson Pie Shop for a coffee first - it was pouring down and Rudy was good enuf to escort us to the pie shop). For those travelling back the next day, we could return via West Wyalong, Grenfell, Cowra, Bathurst and then home. Certainly doable in 2 days. Excluding the journey from Sydney to the Albion Park start point, you are looking at 1,428 km ie two 700 and a bit km days. A group could start from MacDonalds Heathcote. View Larger Map | |

| Ok I have a tentative date of Saturday 20th March but is flexible. Narrandera is another possible destination on that route which is about 600 ks - anyway let's have some feed back

| Dave, you mean Saturday 19th March.
Stew, Temora air museum has a flight day on the Saturday, but I expect we'd be too late for that, however, we could visit the museum on Sunday if you are keen.
If we stayed at Narrandera we could return via Ardlethan, Temora, Young, Cowra then Bathurst - Sydney.

| I'll start off the auction with a departure date of Saturday 12th March. That may resolve some of the date conflicts.
I still suggest Narrandera for a convenient stop for us overnighters, returning via Temora.
With Easter not till April 22, we won't be hit with DD's.
How does this date fit with the rest, but more particularly, you Dave, for it is your ride after all.

| Just an update on this trip and some minor deviation. Rather than heading all the way west to Barossa we are going south from Wagga wagga to Rutherglen Vic. for a festival that is on there. So if anyone is still interested we could do Sydney Wagga wagga for an overnighter Anyway let me know . Leaving on Saturday March 12th

| Sorry guys ... I have not posted for ages as a frantic work pace has been keeping me busy during January. Unfortunately, I am working part or all of every weekend in March so no weekend rides for me ! Sounds great though. Have a ball! | |

| There isn't a lot of positive interest or commitment in the overnighter ride and I can't see a VRC overnighter actually coming off, so I am going to bite the bullet and pull out as I can make commitments elsewhere for that weekend.
Dave, hope you have a great journey and look forward to your reports.

| In light of other committments etc from everyone I have decided to move my leaving date to the Monday 14th which suits the wife better anyway. Sorry for the inconvenience however thanks for interest shown. Maybe we can work on an overnighter later in the year.
cheers | |
