| REGISTRATION FOR THIS RIDE IS NOW OPENThose that have followed the FarRide events know that they are distance based challenges involving distances of a minimum of 1,000 km within a 24 hour period. It is not a Vulcan Riders event. It is planned at FarRiders. Their site can be seen @ http://farriders.com/index.phpRenmark, on the Murray River will be the destination for the next FarRide. It is also the first South Australian FarRide. It is just 1,200 km from Sydney. I'll be including a Great Ocean Road ride on the return trip. I have registered for the 1,200 km ride. You must have completed at least four 1,000 km rides before registering for a 1,200 km ride. You can still ride 1,200 km but will only be credited with a 1,000 km ride completion. Alternatively, if 1,200 km in 24 hours is daunting, one strategy is to ride 200 km on the Friday in the morning, beginning your FarRide at the 1,000 km mark, at the start time of 11:30. Planning a FarRide and riding the plan is part of the fun. The Saturday meeting point will be the Renmark Club, which is capable of seating 450. If you need local accommodation: Renmark Hotel right next door or in the attached motel. Phone (08) 8586 6755 or 1800 736 627. It is a 10 minute walk to the Big4 Renmark Caravan Park. Phone (08) 8586 6315 or 1300 664 612. Slightly longer 20 minute walk to Riverbend Caravan Park. Phone (08) 8595 5131 or 1800 552 451. To be listed as a finisher, you must: 1. Obtain a Start Docket at your Start Location no earlier than the Start Time. No starting docket with a time earlier than 11:30am SA Central Standard Time Friday, 28 September 2012 will be accepted. SA is 30 minutes behind NSW. If departing from NSW start dockets must read 12:00 noon or later. 2. Check In during the time window. 3. Complete the online finisher form (Details will be emailed to registrants before the ride) If you have any questions, just ask.

| I will probably change my ride from the 1,200 km ride to the 1,000 km ride, preferring to ride to Bathurst on the morning of Friday 28 September with Justin from NSWR and anyone else who wants to join us, then starting the FarRide from Bathurst, travelling via Wagga and staying at Balranald, a distance of about 700 km. That leaves about 300 km on the Saturday. Will get a start docket from the Peter Brock Museum at Mount Panorama. The return trip per this map is not firm yet. In summary: Fri Day 1 AM Sydney - Bathurst 200 km PM Start FarRide from Mount Panorama to Balranald (stay overnight) 712 km Sat Day 2 AM Balranald - Renmark 305 km PM Renmark - Mt Gambier (stay overnight) 452 km Sun Day 3 Mt Gambier - Apollo Bay (stay overnight) 343 km Mon Day 4 Apollo Bay - Queenscliff (stay overnight) 134 km (laps of GOR perhaps) Tue Day 5 AM Catch Queenscliff Ferry to Sorrento then on to Eden (stay overnight) 656 km Wed Day 6 Check whale museum at Eden then Eden - Sydney/home via coast 477 km 6 days, 3,080 km. | |

| Note:
South Australia is 30 minutes behind NSW. How this effects you and this ride:
* Don't get a starting docket until at least NOON, which is 11.30am SA or Central Standard Time. If you get a docket in NSW at 11.30am, you will be starting your run 30 minutes early and won't be accepted when you check in at Renmark.
There have been cases of QLD riders being 1 hour late to NSW check ins. Just remember, NSW is 30 minutes ahead of SA, since the sun rises in the east and sets in the west... and SA is west of NSW.

| Hi Dave, I had a great time. Weather was good apart from some rain from Grenfell on the Friday. The rain stopped after a few hours and we had a perfect sunset. Roads perfect. The FarRide gathering was excellent with a speed boat ride included. I have a Phillip Island ride from tomorrow then the Snowy Ride the week after. There are some NSWR rides planned, but we must and will make an effort to get an SVR ride together sooner rather than later, that is if I am welcome to ride a Yamaha with you all.
Here are the FarRide pics plus my extended ride to the GOR.

| Sounds good Ed. Any word from Roddy. Interested to see how the 1700 went. I'm not sure whether SVR actually exists so riding the Yamaha would not be a problem

I do like the 1700 and was wondering about a couple of things like how did the cruise control go and can you actually hear the stereo etc Anyway will be at PITS this Sunday around 9 if anyone wants to catch up and go from there
