Unfortunately Deborah and I have just been hit up the ass while stopped at a pedestrian crossing. We were on her bike not mine. She is in St Vincents getting x-rays. I am sore but OK. The bike is repairable. The car was being driven by an older woman. She is fine of course. We keep you posted

| What I was going to say earlier, but thought it may have been out of place, and it may well be, was:
CTP prices for bikes have gone up in a lot of cases. Daves incident is yet another instance of a cage causing an injury to a motorcyclist, yet, the way that they calculate the CTP premium costs for bikes, statistically, this accident will count against motorcycles. I say put the CTP costs up for cars as in a lot of cases, they can and do cause injuries to riders.
Get well soon both of you. | |

| We have not met as yet Dave, but I hope we can fix that before too long! I hope that both you and Deborah are recovering well. So very sorry to hear of your incident. Such a relatively minor bingle in a car can have potentially catastrophic results for the motorcyclist. Very pleased that you got out of this one relatively OK. Reminds us all of the need to take care out there! | |

| Thanks Pirtek, yes we were lucky this time, however unlucky that a dingdong car driver was not paying attention. No amount of evasive action would have saved us with a full pedestrian crossing in front and this idiot coming up from behind. It was extremely annoying considering we were at a full stop. I instinctively looked in my rear vision mirror at the point of impact and she was looking out her side window. I have no remorse about having one of the loudest exhaust systems available on my own bike which I believe has saved me several times. Unfortunately my wifes bike (like my wife) is pretty mild mannered. Anyways lesson learned.

| Agree with loud pipes Dave. A number of times I have seen car drivers looking around because I know they can hear me even if they cant see me | |
