Sunday December 13th - Ride South

On Sunday December 13th let's ride south. We could head to Huskisson Pub for lunch and return via Kangaroo Valley including a stop at Camberwarra Lookout and then the Robertson Pie Shop.

Meeting Place: Loftus Oval
Meeting Time: 8:30
Departure Time: 9:00

Loftus oval is that oval/car park a few hundred metres before the first entrance to the National Park. The other alternative meet place is Maccas Heathcote and to join the national park roughly half way. Up to you.

Route: Royal National Park, then Old Princess Hwy to the BP at Albion Park for fuel, then on to Nowra via the Kiama bends, Weary Beach, Berry, then to Huskisson pub for lunch.

After lunch, stop at South Nowra for fuel, head home thru Kangaroo Valley, Macquarie Pass and the National Park to include a stop at Camberwarra Lookout. See picture below. What a great view.

Damn, damn, damn again!! Daughters dance concert that day. Would LOVE to come and see you guys again, but this is the big annual concert and I just cannot miss it! Sorry guys. Ride safe, have fun and would someone please have a lemon-lime & bitters for me!

How would ppl feel if we didn't go to Huskisson and instead had our lunch at the Camerwarra Mountain Lookout cafe and restaurant. Great menu, excellent views.

Just after Bald Hill but before the Sea Bridge there is a really nice coffee shop. Harry & I stopped there once. Perhaps have a break there instead of Bald Hill.

Ok, we (sorry, I meant I) took the wrong turn to get to Camberwarra Lookout and we ended up having lunch at a very nice pub at Robertson (where we stopped before Harry).

The good news is we can get to go to the lookout with more members in the new year. To Stew, Rudi and Allan, apologies, but I think it was a great ride with good company.Perfect weather and all.

Great news Stew, went for a drive in the cage down south today, mainly to show my wife Ann exactly where we go on these rides.

Entered the RNP at Loftus, carried on to Bald Hill, followed the coast to Albion Park, then on to Berry for lunch. As we exited Berry, and just before the speed camera, took the Kangaroo Valley route and then took the Camberwarra Lookout turnoff. Carried on to the lookout (locked it into my GPS) and then after that returned home via Mittagong.
What we should have done last time we looked for the lookout was to turn left (and not right) on that final leg to KV. If you travel from Nowra you pass the lookout road on the way to KV. It was that route we took last time from a Huskie ride.

We will try again in 2010.
